AR Rahman Nominated for 2 Oscars

The nominations for the 2011 Oscar awards has been announced today and Rahman has earned 2 Oscar Nominations for Danny Boyle's 127 Hours movie. His work has been nominated in Best Original Score category and Best Original Song 'If I Rise' that featuring British Singer Dido.   127 Hours is co-written and directed by Danny Boyle,produced by Christian Colson and John Smithson. The film based on real story of mountain climber Aron Ralston and James Franco played the lead role of this movie.   The other nominees in the Best Original Score Category are for movies like Inception, The King's Speech, The Social Network, How To Train Your Dragon.

 The winners of the 83rd Academy Awards will be announced in a grand function that will be held at Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on February 27, 2011 and the show will be hosted by Anne Hathaway and James Franco.

Delhi-6 Movie Songs

Delhi-6 is a fantastic Hindi movie that was released in the year 2009.  The movie was directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and the music of the movie was composed by A.R.Rahman.  The movie cast includes Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Om Puri, Rishi Kapoor, Waheeda Rahman, Atul Kulkarni, Divya Dutta and so on.  The movie is loosely based on director Rakeysh Mehra's growing up years in Chandni Chowk (Old Delhi).  It was Sonam Kapoor's second movie after her debut in Sanjay Leela Bansali's Saawariya.  She was really cute and her expressions in Masakali song was awesome.  The sound tracks made a great impact before release of the movie.  All the songs are well received by the audience. Prasoon Joshi penned the lyrics for all the songs in the movie. Roja Movie Songs

Roja is a fantastic Tamil movie was released in 1992 that really changed the entire Indian movie industry into a new path.  The film was directed by maverick Maniratnam and produced by K.Balanchardar's Kavithalaya Productions.  The movie cast includes Arvind Samy as Rishi, Madhu Bala as Roja, Pankaj Kapoor as Liaqat, Naseer as Colonel Rayappa and few more other actors.  It was A.R.Rahman's first movie as a music composer and he really rocked even in his debut project.  Chinna Chinna Aasai was the first song he composed and all the lyrics of the movie was penned by veteran Tamil poet Vairamuthu.  The songs and back ground score of the movie was unbelievable.  In 2005 the Time Magazine includes Roja movie's sound track as one of the "10 Best Sound Tracks" of all time.
